the people

Launch Coworking is a community-driven organization focused on helping individuals and teams grow ideas, build connections, and support one another through shared space and collective knowledge. f-BLOK worked closely with Launch through feasibility studies, test-fits, and stakeholder engagement to understand their vision for flexible, wellness-oriented coworking environments across multiple locations in Winnipeg.

Led by f-BLOK as prime consultant for architecture and interiors, the team guided each project from early concept through construction administration. Collaborating with partners including SMS Engineering, CGM Engineering, and Alston Properties, the process balanced design quality with speed, cost, and adaptability across varied sites. Each location was shaped by its context, from retrofitting a historic Exchange District building to integrating into Winnipeg’s downtown network, all while maintaining a consistent focus on community, flexibility, and user experience.

the result

The Launch Coworking portfolio delivers a series of adaptable, high-quality workspaces ranging from 3,700 ft2 to 7,500 ft2, supporting a wide spectrum of users and work styles. Developed through multiple feasibility studies and pre-lease test fits, the projects resulted in three key locations: Launch Southside, Launch Exchange, and Launch Downtown, each tailored to its building context while reinforcing Launch’s brand and mission.

To achieve these outcomes, the design emphasized flexibility, wellness, and community-building, creating environments that support both focused work and collaboration.

Key features and program elements include:

  • A mix of private offices, open work areas, and collaborative lounges supporting diverse work styles

  • Dedicated rooms for meetings, calls, and podcasting, enabling focused and specialized use

  • Shared amenities including kitchens, lounge areas, and informal gathering spaces

  • Bright, modern interiors with an emphasis on natural light and user comfort

  • Flexible layouts that adapt to changing tenant needs and occupancy models

  • Integration within unique building contexts, including a heritage retrofit in the Exchange District

  • Connectivity to surrounding urban amenities, including Winnipeg’s downtown walkway system

  • High-performance infrastructure including reliable connectivity and integrated workplace tools

The result is a network of coworking environments that foster productivity, collaboration, and community. From historic retrofits to contemporary urban spaces, Launch’s facilities provide flexible, professional settings that support the growth of individuals, teams, and businesses across Winnipeg.
